How to Observe Ramadan?

Ramadan is the greatest and holy month for Muslims that comes on the ninth lunar cycle of the Islamic Calendar. This is the most important month for Muslims all over the world may begin to observe Ramadan. During this month, Muslims begin to fasting and dedicate them by prayer to God in the name of “Allah”. Recognize that Ramadan honor and celebrates the month, in which the Quran the words of Allah was first affirmed to the Prophet Mohammad. It is believed to be the divine communication directly from God (Allah) to Mohammad that was delivered over a period of 23 years.

Fasting in the holy month of Ramadan is the one of the religious duties of the Muslim faith. It is characterized as a period of fasting towards self-purification of mind, spirit and body. Fasting means abstaining from food and drink (even water), that to observed everyday in the month of Ramadan from dawn until sundown. The fast will be broken on Maghrib, the fourth prayer performed daily at Dusk. During this holy month one should also avoid sexual activity, gossip, arguing, expressions of envy and anger. It is mainly for encouraging the self-discipline and devotion to prayer. It is also the month to do charitable activities for those who are in need of food or any thing else.

It is known that Muslims read the Holy book Quran entirely during Ramadan for the maximum times. During this holy month, the special prayer “Tarawih” also performed on continuation with the fifth daily prayer of Isah in night. The Rising of the next new month brings in Eid ul-Fitr, the “Greatest Festival for Muslims” that breaks the fasting and ends the month of Ramadan.
