It is frustrating thing if the speaker is not working when we like to hear music from our computers. Here we have provided you the basic troubleshooting that can be work for computers which is running Windows XP Home, Professional, or 64 bit editions. We can first check whether our speakers are plugged in, turned on and has been properly connected to the computer. After checking this, still the speaker is not working then we can check with the other computer if possible. If the same is working with the other computer, then there is no problem in the speaker.
The next process is to check the sound drivers by the following ways that are to be continued.
• The first step is to right click on the “My Computer” icon and choose the Properties option. Then click on Hardware Tab and the Device Manager tab.
• By expanding the “Sounds, video and game controllers” heading, we can identify the type of sound card that is installed in our PC. It will mostly contain the name audio and we can examine the error because of the exclamation point over the card’s icon.
• On Double-clicking the sound card name a new window properties will be open and then click the “Drivers” tab. In the “Drivers” tab click the “Driver Update” button and follow the Wizard’s onscreen instructions to update your driver.
• If the driver is already available then click the “Uninstall Driver” button and restart the computer. When the computer is restarted then the driver should reinstall automatically instead it not happens then we can do it manually with software.
By clicking the trouble shooting button in the “Drivers” tab also assist us in following the instruction from the Windows Troubleshooter. It is necessary to check whether the Sound card is in the correct location inside the PC. This can be done by shut down the PC, disconnecting all the cables and by opening the CPU. Now remove the sound card and reattach it then plugged the cables and boot the PC. This information helps you to troubleshoot the problems in your computer speakers without spending any charges
